Psst! Hey, come here. Here’s a peek at the pics from the Beach Blanket Blood Bath session at Dr. Sketchy’s Charleston before I put them up on the Sketchy’s site. Like what you see? Well remember we’re doing a Star Wars themed figure session this Sunday with prizes sponsored by Baby Tattoo Books, What Katie Did, and Champion Cards and Games. More pictures under the cut and in the gallery. Ta da! The flyer for the Dr. Sketchy’s Tribute to Star Wars session. Feel free to pass it around or print this .pdf version and put it up. I’m super proud of the artwork that I put into it. Maybe I’ll offer a print of Slave Fett up there as a prize during Sketchy’s.
On April 20th, members of the Occupy Huntington movement organized a group of men, women, and one dog to march from Marshall University’s campus through frat row to the courthouse in protest of the recent Republican war on women. It was modelled after the Toronto slut walk to drive home the point that what a women wears is in no way an invitation to any form of harassment. Find out more about them at their Facebook page. More under the cut and on Smug Mug.
My self portrait. My headshot. My press photo. I know that it’s gauche to do the mirror self portrait thing, but hear me out. As a photographer I’m building a brand, I have to create a personal connection. So of course since my product and brand is myself I’ve got to appear on here somewhere. So here’s the problem I have with many other photographer’s including their photo on their sites: They probably didn’t take it. It kinda rubs me as false advertising to include a picture of me and try to convince you I’m a good photographer. Now wedding photographers you get excused immediately. Wedding photographers usually have a second shooter they’re partnered with. All part of the advertised package. So I took a stab at doing my own headshot and breath some life into a tired, old meme. I think I came out ahead. |
